| There are many tutorials about transforimng a photo into a pencil sketch with Photoshop... And this is one of them! By using this technique you can obtain an image with a "natural" feeling. |

1. Open the original photo, unlock the background and rename the layer as "Base".
2. Make a copy of the "Base" layer by dragging it on the "Create a new layer" icon and rename it "Overlay" |
3. Go back to the "Base" layer and apply the "Add Noise" filter (Filter -> Noise -> Add Noise...) with the following settings:
- Amount: 14%
- Distribution: Gaussian
- Monochromatic: checked |

4. Now apply to the same layer "Angled Strokes" filter (Filter -> Brush Strokes -> Angled Strokes)
Try the following settings:
- Direction Balance: 100
- Stroke Lenght: 22
- Sharpness: 4 |

5. Apply to the same layer the Blur filter (Filter -> Blur -> Blur) and the desaturate it to discard color information (Image -> Adjustments -> Hue/Saturation), by setting the saturation value to 0.
Try the following settings:
- Brush Size: 4
- Sharpness: 0
- Brush Type: Wide Sharp

6. Set the foreground and background colors as white and black , then go back to the "Overlay" layer, make sure it's above the "Base" layer and apply the "Graphic Pen" filter (Filter -> Sketch -> Graphic Pen) with the following settings:
- Stroke Length: 15
- Light/Dark Balance: 10
- Stroke Direction: Right Diagonal |

7. Apply to the same layer the "Gaussian Blur" filter (Filter -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur) with the following settings:
- Radius: 1.1 pixels
8. Set the "Overlay" layer Blending Mode to "Overlay" and its opacity to about 80%.
